This is the design sheet I submitted to WayForward for the new Shantae Kickstarter backer character, Tuki.
As you can see, there is quite a bit of difference from my version and the one they chose, mainly because everything had to be translated to the game's style.

So there is where the magic began... awesome!
That idea of her eyes showing through eyeholes in the pot's skull-face is really creative... but WOW is that pale pink interior to her mouth unnerving, especially with those SNEK ARMS!
